Working for over 16yrs as 1st AD, Director, Actress & Producer. As a director her short films have screened at Chelsea Film Festival New York, Icaro International Film Festival Guatemala, Kinofilm Manchester Short Film Festival and Corto Circuito New York. She recently directed the 2nd Unit for The Food that Built America S4, documentary series by History Channel.

Palmieri has 1st AD'd more than 12 feature films in New York, Nigeria, Cambodia, Bolivia & Guatemala, premiering in festivals like Berlinale & Venice International Film Critics’ week. Mónica works in TV, commercials & episodic, for companies like HBO, Netflix, Amazon, A24, History Channel & Comedy Central.

First Guatemalan woman graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute New York.

Proud member of The Actors Studio Playwright Directors Unit in New York since 2017.

President of the Guatemalan Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
